An awesome Autumn on What To Do
Community Integrated Care is excited to unveil an eclectic programme of activities to kick off the Autumn season on our charity’s online inclusive activity platform – What To Do. Every week, people who access care and support will have the opportunity to take part in free, exclusive virtual events, specially curated by our charity.
Autumn on What To Do sees our charity partner up with the likes of London Transport Museum, animal encounters specialists, Zoo Lab, the National Football Museum, and other special guests to host a vibrant array of activities.
The new calendar follows a successful summer programme which included sessions led by Cbeebies presenter Rory Crawford, Strictly Come Dancing professional Vincent Simone and former England international footballer Gemma Bonner.
Throughout September, October and November weekly sessions will continue, providing people who access care and support with new skills, the opportunity to meet amazing people and take part in exclusive experiences. Highlights of the Autumn schedule will include:
- Wednesday 27th September at 2pm – professional make-up artist to Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Sky Sports Football and BBC Breakfast, Samantha Metcalfe, joins What To Do, to share top beauty tips.
- Tuesday 10th October at 4pm – for World Mental Health Day, accessible meditation experts, Celia Heneage and Nicola Smith, will be demonstrating techniques to relax, be mindful and improve mental health.
- Wednesday 18th October at 2pm – for National Baking Week, Great British Bake Off legend, Jane Beedle, will be hosting an accessible bake along.
- Wednesday 25th October at 7pm – Rising star musician, LOUQ, will be celebrating Black History Month with live acoustic covers of Black artists from across the decades.
What To Do is curated in collaboration with people who access care and support. Each season, the programme of activities is developed in response to their ideas and feedback. The Autumn line-up of events kicks off this Wednesday at 7pm with a disco led by a person supported at Community Integrated Care’s Mill Point service in St Helens.
Sam Turner, Digital Inclusion Manager at Community Integrated Care, said: “Working with such a fantastic array of partners means that What To Do will provide a diverse offer of opportunities for people who access care and support throughout Autumn. Where else can you learn tips from the Coronation Street make-up artist, take a tour of a transport museum and meet a medal winning paralympic athlete?”
