We’re attending the Labour Conference

On Tuesday (10th October) our charity is proud to be attending the Labour Party Conference to continue our campaign for change in social care, where we’ve been invited to speak at a Fringe event hosted by the National Care Form (NCF).

Entitled “Valuing people and their communities: Unlocking the potential of not-for-profit care” – the event will bring together NCF members, frontline care workers, and experts by experience, to host a special panel and interface directly with Labour MPs.

With the goal to campaign for long-term solutions to the crisis in social care, our Sports Inclusion Assistant, Matt Price, and Director of Partnerships and Communities, John Hughes, will represent Community Integrated Care at the event.

This will offer our organisation an incredible opportunity to make our people’s voices heard and call for the funding the sector needs to reward our colleagues and cover the full cost of care.

Matt Price, our Sports Inclusion Assistant, shared: “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Community Integrated Care at the Labour Party Conference on Tuesday. I know from my own first-hand experience just how crucial the work of our colleagues is, to support people to live their best lives. So, I am really delighted that I have this chance to join the other members of the panel and speak directly to Labour representatives about the importance of funding the sector.”

He continued: “Through the panel, we hope to encourage the Labour Party to speak more about their long-term plans for social care, and what their National Care Service would entail. Overall, I’m proud to represent the charity at such a key event and bring attention to what social care needs to provide happy and fulfilled lives for all.”
