Tanners receive ‘exemplary’ CQC ratings

Colleagues and people supported at Community Integrated Care’s Tanners service in Hertfordshire are delighted to have received brilliant results in their latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) Inspection, achieving ‘Good’ ratings across the board.

Praised for their caring nature and commitment to person-centered support, Tanners achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC in all areas including, the service being recognised as safe, effective, caring and well-led.

Speaking of the visit, inspectors said, “People are supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. The ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of the manager and support team ensures people living at the home lead confident, inclusive and empowered lives.”

Inspectors also shared feedback from the people supported, who they spoke to at the time of the inspection. They reported that people felt they were really well supported to go out into their community, enjoy lots of different activities and develop their skills and independence, with one person saying, “I am so proud of myself.”

Sarah Rusted, Care Home Manager at Tanners, said, “I am so proud of my team for this brilliant result. They work so hard and really put their all into making sure they know everyone we support inside out, so that they can provide the very best support possible. And they do so with the utmost dignity, respect, compassion and care. They’re an amazing bunch of people and I am so grateful to be their manager. I couldn’t do my job without them.”

With inspectors recognising the team’s compassionate and caring nature and commending the support they provide as being exemplary, it’s a really proud moment for us as a team and a region.
