Amberleigh House commended by the Care Quality Commission

Community Integrated Care is delighted to announce that Amberleigh House Care Home in Liverpool has been commended by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their recent inspection of the home.

In their latest report, regulators CQC rated Amberleigh House, which is home to 35 residents, as ‘Good’, praising them for their homely living environment, their caring and respectful staff team and their efforts to involve loved ones in the day-to-day running of the home.

CQC’s feedback follows the team’s incredible efforts to improve the service over the past 12 months. This has included carrying out a huge internal transformation of the home, aimed at creating a more relaxing and therapeutic atmosphere for residents and staff. In their report, CQC applauded Amberleigh House on how well they involved staff and relatives in this process, ensuring that residents’ personal tastes were reflected in the décor of their home. The revamp has seen several themed areas introduced, such as a peaceful seaside scene, and a music memorabilia area – all aimed at supporting reminiscence for the residents who live there.

Caroline Broughall, Service Leader at Amberleigh House, says: “We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of our latest CQC inspection and we’re thrilled with the positive feedback we received. The team has worked really hard to implement many changes to improve Amberleigh House, so that we can positively impact the lives of the people we support and their loved ones.”

Caroline continues: “From the refurbishment of our home, to the introduction of a new Family Forum; enhancing our activity programmes, to improving our person-centred care plans, we’ve seen a huge improvement in the service, which has had a wonderful effect on the wellbeing of the people we support and the morale of our staff team. However, that’s not to say we are stopping there. We have lots more changes that we want to make, and we’ll be implementing these over the coming months. Our aim us for our next report to say ‘Outstanding’ and I really believe we can do it!”

Phil Pegler, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Community Integrated Care, says: “Huge congratulations to Amberleigh House for all the hard work they’ve put in to achieving this fantastic outcome. Our charity’s aim is to ensure that every single one of our care services achieves a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ rating from our regulators – the Care Quality Commission and the Care Inspectorate – and Amberleigh House is a shining example of how this can be achieved. What is most heartening is to read the feedback from residents and their families about how happy they are to be part of the home – for us, this is what it is all about.”
