We appoint new Chief Financial Officer
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of Tom Gibbs to our Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer.
Tom joins us from National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity, where he is currently Finance Director. Prior to this, Tom’s experience includes six years at Barnardo’s children’s charity, holding a number of senior roles covering Business Transformation, Technology, Audit and Risk, and overseeing the design and delivery of key strategic initiatives. He is also a Trustee and Treasurer at the food bank charity, The Trussell Trust.
Tom will step into his new position in April 2024, taking the reins from Interim Chief Financial Officer, Stephen Perry, who will remain in post until Tom’s arrival.
Jim Kane, Chief Executive Officer at Community Integrated Care said: “We’re delighted with Tom’s appointment, and look forward to welcoming him to our team. Tom brings a wealth of expertise from his finance and leadership roles within the charity sector, which will undoubtedly bring huge value to our organisation. However, what really stood out to us is Tom’s strong sense of purpose and values, and his motivation be part of our mission to deliver the best lives possible for the people we support.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to our Interim Chief Financial Officer, Stephen Perry, for his ongoing support whilst we made this important appointment. During his time with us, Stephen has ensured continuity and provided invaluable guidance to our teams – we wish him all the best for the future.”
On his appointment, Tom commented: “Having had the privilege of meeting a number of colleagues and people supported by the charity already, I’m really excited to join Community Integrated Care. Seeing the incredible work that the teams do firsthand and hearing how they make a difference to people’s lives, demonstrated the strong values held throughout the organisation and cemented my ambition to join.”
“Over the past few years, the charity has achieved so much, exploring innovative investments and strategies to best support colleagues and the people they support, despite the challenging financial landscape faced by the sector. The leadership team and Board of Trustees have bold and ambitious plans for the future, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this. I’m looking forward to getting started in April, meeting as many more colleagues as possible and witnessing the charity’s life-changing impact in action.”
We’re also delighted to announce that Joanne Bunworth has been promoted into the role of Finance Director. Progressing from Head of Finance, Facilities and Procurement, Joanne has worked at our charity for almost 18 years within our finance team.
