Rugby shirts raise over £3000

Shirts That Care, our special Rugby League World Cup 2021 shirts auction, launched on Monday 29th January 2024, has raised over £3,300 for our charity, with thanks to the rugby league community.

The seven day auction gave fans the chance to own a unique memento of the sport’s history, in the form of exclusive signed squad shirts from the 32 nations across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments.

Funds raised through ‘Shirts That Care’ will support people who access care and support to get active, develop skills, grow in independence, and live healthier lives through the charity’s inclusion programmes.

The shirts were generously donated by our partner, the Rugby Football League (RFL).

Lewis Webster, Sports Inclusion Communications Manager at Community Integrated Care, said: “The Rugby League World Cup 2021 was a truly life changing experience for hundreds of people who access care and support through Community Integrated Care’s Inclusive Volunteering® Programme.

‘Shirts That Care’ was a fantastic reminder of the incredible personal development journeys our inclusive volunteers went on during this time, and how this tournament and unique social care partnership with the RFL enabled so many to live their best lives possible and live their dreams.

This is an amazing figure raised and will make a huge difference to the lives of people we support. We’d like to thank both the RFL for the donation of the shirts, and the support of the rugby league community which never fails to surprise us with their generosity.”
