Happy Birthday Community Integrated Care!

Today (Thursday 15^th March) is a very special day for Community Integrated Care, as we celebrate our 30^th Anniversary!

Happy 30th Birthday Community Integrated Care On March 15^th 1988 our great charity was founded by a Halton-based GP, Dr David Robertson. Dr Robertson was one of the pioneers of the ‘Care In The Community’ agenda, spearheading efforts to support people to move from the isolation of living in long-stay hospitals to the inclusion of living in the heart of their local community. His legacy has seen tens of thousands of people be enabled to lead fuller, better lives.

30 years later, Dr Robertson’s vision remains, and Community Integrated has grown to support over 3500 people with a range of care needs, and employs over 6000 caring and passionate staff.

This evening, the special day will be marked with a celebration in the north west – our birthplace – that will bring together our longest-serving staff, the people we support and key figures from the sector. The event, named ‘From Institution to Inclusion’, will look back on the last three decades of social care and celebrate the incredible people who have dedicated their careers to changing the lives of others.

This will commence a year of celebration for Community Integrated Care, which will culminate in a glittering awards and conference at the end of the year.
