TEC team shortlisted for National Care Awards
Community Integrated Care are proud to celebrate our charity’s Technology Enabled Care (TEC) team being shortlisted for a prestigious accolade at the 2024 National Care Awards, taking place on Friday 29th November in London.
The team are up for Tech Innovation of the Year, recognising the transformation of our charity’s On Call process for frontline teams.
Determined to create an On Call process that was consistent, efficient and enabled greater work/life balance for our frontline leaders, the team worked with colleagues across the charity to transition On Call to a digital approach.
They worked in partnership with external suppliers to implement unique workflow allocation and care planning software; recruited a new, centralised team of experienced social care professionals as ‘Shift Managers’ trained to remotely cover frontline leader support responsibilities outside of shift hours; and created a collective repository of live service information, updated regularly.
Since its implementation, the On Call team have responded to an average of 348 calls per month, improving the work life balance of 247 frontline leaders, whilst also enabling teams to maintain high-quality consistent support – all contributing towards our charity’s vision of ensuring the best lives possible for people we support and colleagues alike.
Managing Director for Technology Enabled Care, Joanna Scammell, said, “It’s fantastic for our team to be shortlisted for a National Care Award and to be recognised as leading the way in technology innovation, across the social care sector. Our On Call process is just one of the many ways that we’re drawing on technology to create more efficiencies for our teams and to ensure that both our colleagues and the people we support live the best lives possible. We’re really looking forward to celebrating at the awards evening and hearing about the other innovations making an impact throughout the care sector too.”
