Double Award win at GB East Midlands Care Awards
Community Integrated Care has been honoured with two prestigious accolades, along with a highly commended recognition, at the Great British Care Awards for the East Midlands region, held this week on 27th November.
On behalf of our charity, James Brind, Head of Operations for our South, Central & Yorkshire regions, accepted the highly coveted Care Employer Award, along with the Care Innovator Award.
The esteemed Care Employer accolade recognises employers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their teams, fostering a positive workplace culture and achieving success in delivering outstanding care services through their dedication to supporting colleagues, investing in professional development and creating an inclusive environment for all.
Edd Terrey, Managing Director for our South, Central & Yorkshire regions, said, “We are truly honoured to receive the Care Employer award, celebrating our commitment to supporting our colleagues and delivering outstanding care across the East Midlands. Our goal has always been to be an employer of choice, and this recognition highlights the incredible progress we’re making.”
He continued, “To be shortlisted for four awards in our East Midlands region is an amazing achievement and a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone in our charity. We couldn’t be prouder of our people”.
The Care Innovator title, our second win of the evening, is in recognition of our Taking Charge campaign. Taking Charge gives people working in and drawing on social care, free support to cut their energy bills and make big savings, delivered in accessible and interactive ways. More recently, Taking Charge has developed a new e-learning platform and partnership with National Care Forum, evolving the innovative campaign.
John Hughes, Director of Partnerships & Communities, said, “We’re incredibly proud that our Taking Charge campaign was awarded the Care Innovator accolade. Building on the campaign’s past successes, we’re working to reduce fuel poverty, cut energy bills, and protect the environment. One step at a time, we’re creating a brighter, more sustainable future for everyone, and driving real change.”
He continued, “We’re delighted to have relaunched Taking Charge this year in partnership with the National Care Forum. Offering free, easy and engaging e-learning, accessible resources and toolkits for services, we hope to inspire and support many more people who work in and draw on care and support.”
Adding to our awards success on the evening, Owen Handley, Support Worker, received a Highly Commended recognition in the Home Care Worker category, recognising employers in the social care sector who display a commitment to providing the very best care for the people they support. Jesina Mugumburwa, Support Worker, was our final fantastic finalist of the evening.
The awards ceremony forms part of the Great British Care Award’s regional events, celebrating excellence across the sector. The ceremonies continue to take place throughout this month across other regions, with Community Integrated Care celebrating 22 Great British Care Awards.
Winners from the regional events will go through to a National Finals taking place in March next year.
