Jedburgh Team Awarded Excellent Grading!

Congratulations to the team at Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, who were rated as Excellent by the Care Inspectorate!

In their latest report, the regulators praised our Jedburgh Services, grading them as Excellent in all of the themes they were inspected on – a first for Community Integrated Care.

Set up in January 2009 the service has evolved from a core and cluster type service of four flats, to expand to provide outreach to people with learning disabilities in Jedburgh and other nearby towns – now supporting 10 people.

The service was praised in particular for its truly personalised support that had led to incredible outcomes for the people supported at the service – the report states “We saw excellent examples of outcomes for individuals which included one supported person experiencing a plane flight for the very first time. The staff team supported that person so well they now have improved confidence to explore other new opportunities.”

Across the whole service examples of personalised support continued with golf days, horse riding, football matches, Zumba and even public speaking, helping the people we support to lead fuller lives.

The quality of important documentation was also complimented: “Care plans contained excellent information that was unique to the person and how they needed, and preferred to be supported. This ensured all staff were able to support them safely and consistently.”

Our employee recognition scheme, Little Acorns, was mentioned by the inspector, who when complimenting the leadership of the home, said: “The Service Leader was nominated as employee of the month by the service which showed excellent outcomes for staff who were being supported by them. This was reflective when we spoke with staff and their enthusiasm to take on new challenges.”
