A day of collaboration at the Social Care Future gathering

Yesterday, we attended the Social Care Future gathering which took place at the People’s History Museum in Manchester. The event took place over two days on the 14th & 15th November.

Community Integrated Care Team at Social Care GatheringThe event’s main aim was to share best practice and ideas within the field of social care, looking into how we can improve and what we can do to bring along these changes. The audience was full to the brim of like-minded professionals, determined to bring about a better future for social care, sharing their own positive experiences of the sector and taking action by collaborating with other organisations.

The inspirational gathering, which volunteer led, broke from tradition from the usual conference format, with exhibitors all having the chance to participate on the day via a range of interactions with guests, such as quick fire speaking slots.

Community Integrated Care attended the event to highlight the huge impact their partnerships with local sport organisations were having on the community. We focussed on how our collaboration with rugby clubs, such as Widnes Vikings and St Helens RFC, has brought about unique experiences for the people we support such as accessible sports sessions and player visits to our services.

Regional Manager Paula Dodman, commented on the success of the event, saying, “It has been fantastic to see so many passionate people and organisations in one room, all determined to bring about change in social care. Through collaboration we really do believe that we can have a huge impact on the community, whilst also breaking down the barriers of the perception of social care.”

Select sessions from the gathering were also streamed live on YouTube, allowing a wider audience to participate and share their own ideas on the day.
