Shortlisted for Four North West Charity Awards

Community Integrated Care has been shortlisted for four top accolades at the North West Charity Awards, with the prestigious event taking place in September in Manchester.

The North West Charity Awards celebrate and recognise the innovative and excellent work being carried out by charities in the North West of England. The event puts our charity in the presence of impressive calibre, with previous finalists having of included organisations such as Matalan, Claire House Children’s Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and NSPCC. 

Our charity has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘North West Charity of the Year’, recognising an organisation that has had a truly exceptional year and whose recent achievements have attracted the admiration of the sector. In the past year our charity has launched its ambitious 5-year new strategy, ‘We Dare’, has been shortlisted for over 30 third-sector awards, and launched innovative partnerships that enrich the lives of the people we support and our colleagues, whilst also giving back to the local community.

Our CEO, Mark Adams, has also been recognised at the event, having been shortlisted for ‘Charity Director of the Year’ – celebrating an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their organisation over the past year. Mark has been recognised for leading the development of our new strategy, and his commitment to raising the profile of the funding crisis within the social care sector.

The ground-breaking Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League, and the innovative partnership between our charity, Community Integrated Care, and Super League and the RFL, has also been celebrated after being shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Charity Support by Large Companies’. The world-first initiative, which has given people with learning disabilities the opportunity to play an adapted version of Rugby League, has also been supported by 12 rugby league clubs across the country.

Finally, our charity has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Social and Digital Media’, recognising a charity that has pushed the boundaries of traditional methods of reaching supporters and engaged its audience for its charitable cause. Videos from the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League launch at Dacia’s Magic Weekend in May gathered an impressive 100,000 views.
