On the night, Community Integrated Care’s Scotland services had an exceptional evening collecting three top awards. Catherine Khan, a support worker who works across our Jedburgh and Priors Court services in Scotland, collected the ‘Care Home Worker Award’, presented in recognition for her going the extra mile for the people she supports.

School Close, a state-of-the-art care service in Kirkcudbright in Scotland which supports vulnerable adults, then went on to collect the ‘Care Team Award’. Judges noted that the team were “the clear winner” in their category, after recently successfully engaging in a fundraising campaign to turn their garden into a functional and therapeutic space.

Another of our Scottish services, Pineview located in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, were recognised winning the ‘Putting People First/Personalisation Award’. The team at Pineview support 3 people with learning disabilities to stay engaged in their local community and have created a whole host of exciting partnerships to keep the people they support healthy and active.

Allison Cochrane, Managing Director of Community Integrated Care in Scotland said, “It’s fantastic to see the exceptional work of our colleagues being recognised at this year’s Great British Care Awards. All our nominees show every day their commitment and passion for delivering world-class support, and they deserve every accolade awarded to them. I’m so proud of all our colleagues and teams who have been recognised at tonight’s ceremony for making such a difference to the lives of the people they support.”

To top off an incredible evening, Tees Alive, a Community Integrated Care day-care service in Billingham, collected the ‘Care Innovator Award’. The judges were impressed with Tees Alive and their innovative partnership with Middlesbrough FC Foundation which has created a whole host of opportunities for the people we support.

Community Integrated Care’s winners will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards, taking place in London in March 2020.
