New Chief People Officer Appointed
Community Integrated Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Teresa Exelby as our new Chief People Officer.
In her role, Teresa will lead our charity’s People Services Team, which comprises our Operational field-based People Team, Payroll, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Communications and Reward functions.
Teresa joins us from Morrisons Supermarkets, where she held the role of People Director for Manufacturing, Logistics and Head Office, and was responsible for talent, workforce planning, and all people-related activities across these teams. With a workforce of 15,000 colleagues at Morrisons, Teresa is highly experienced in leading People functions for large and complex teams.
Her career in retail spans 25 years, with notable achievements including leading the people agenda in relation to mitigating the risks from Brexit for Morrisons, and managing the people changes throughout a series of mergers, which made Morrisons the largest fresh food manufacturer in the UK.
Teresa officially joined our charity earlier this month, and her first priority was to develop an authentic and meaningful understanding of our colleagues and the inspiring work they do every day. To do so, she spent her first two weeks working and training alongside frontline teams in our North West services.
Speaking about her experience so far, Teresa says: “I’m really proud to join Community Integrated Care at such an exciting time for the charity, and I’m very much looking forward to working with such talented and committed people.”
“Gaining first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in one of our services is absolutely key to my role. The work of our Support Workers and other frontline colleagues is absolutely life-changing, but comes with many challenges too. I’ve been overwhelmed by the commitment and passion that our teams demonstrate every day, and my focus is now to support those teams in enabling the people we support to live the best lives possible.”
Chief Executive Officer, Mark Adams, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Teresa to our team at such a pivotal time for Community Integrated Care. Her incredible career so far and expertise in working strategically with operational colleagues is second-to-none.”
“We’re almost two years through our ambitious strategy, We Dare, which has some exceptionally bold people aims. Vital to everything we do of course, is an engaged, motivated and capable workforce. We’re extremely honoured to have 6,000 brilliant colleagues who deliver exceptional work day in, day out – expert leadership from someone of Teresa’s calibre can only galvanise this further and I know her influence will be immeasurable.”
