Announcing Emergency Pay Response

Community Integrated Care has announced an Emergency Pay Response for all frontline colleagues to give them the financial support they need during the Coronavirus crisis.  

Since the start of the outbreak, the charity has introduced a range of comprehensive and proactive measures to help delay the spread of the virus and protect its colleagues and the people it supports.

In recent weeks, social care colleagues have been classified by the Government as Key Workers and have seen their efforts celebrated nationally with the #ClapForOurCarers campaign. Community Integrated Care recognises the challenges facing its workforce during the current crisis and has ensured that its colleagues don’t need to worry about financial security at this time.

Effective from 1^st April 2020, the charity is introducing an Emergency Pay Response providing financial support to all frontline colleagues during the outbreak. The response will introduce a temporary 12-week increased pay rate and an enhanced sick pay for Coronavirus related absence.

The charity employs over 6,000 colleagues providing care and support to over 3,500 people across England and Scotland. The care provider has also launched a national recruitment campaign with hundreds of flexible and rewarding work opportunities with prompt start dates. That’s why we’ve announced our Emergency Pay Response to ensure that our frontline colleagues have some reassurance, that while they are responding to this pandemic, we are doing everything we can to offer the financial security they need during the crisis.

Whilst this financial package can only be a temporary measure, we have and will continue to, campaign for parity between the NHS and Social Care, to try and make measures like this as viable as possible in the long-term – which is absolutely deserved.”
