Pemberton Fold gets Good CQC Report!

Community Integrated Care’s Pemberton Fold Care Home in Little Hulton, Salford, is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The team at Pemberton Fold Care Home were delighted to receive an impressive CQC report that rated the home ‘Good’ in all areas demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for the people they support which are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The inspectors were full of praise of the caring way that people supported in the home were treated with kindness and respect. Comments received from residents and family members included comments such as: “staff are brilliant”, “seem to really care and are very kind”, and “It’s lovely, they are always there when you need help”.

Inspectors also commented on the kind and caring culture amongst colleagues at the home and within the report they said they had observed many kind and caring interactions as well as staff being attentive to resident’s needs. They observed that staff were quick to notice when one person became agitated and was repeatedly questioning where they were. Staff promptly responded in a way that helped calm the person and reduced their agitation.

During the visit Inspectors also commented on residents’ care plans which they said were person-centred and gave staff the insight and guidance required to support people safely and effectively, along with getting to know them. There was a wide range of activities for people living at the home to take part in and colleagues had positively engaged with people living at the home, the local community and other organisations to assist with this. Colleagues also supported people to keep up with their religious preferences. For example, church ministers of different denominations regularly visited the home to carry out services.

Tracy Johnson, Community Integrated Care’s Director of Operations for Older People’s Services said, “We are delighted that Pemberton Fold Care Home has received such a fantastic report and has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas, which is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all the team”.

She continued “At the heart of our services is our commitment to ‘putting individuals first’ and it’s great to see that this has been recognised within the report”.
