Middlesbrough FC Deliver Treat Boxes
Community Integrated Care has recently been supported by a team of volunteers and staff members from Middlesbrough FC Foundation, who helped to deliver hundreds of treat boxes to the charity’s key worker colleagues across the North East.
Spanning from Middlesbrough to Northumberland, a dozen volunteers and staff members from Middlesbrough FC, collectively delivered 122 care packages to surprise Community Integrated Care’s colleagues and the people they support.
The packs, which were purchased by the charity as a much-deserved reward for the dedicated efforts of their teams throughout this crisis, included confectionery, drinks and snacks. It was accompanied by a ‘thank you’ card from Community Integrated Care, praising their dedicated colleagues for their hard work and commitment in this difficult period.
This support builds upon a successful eleven-year partnership between the care charity and Middlesbrough FC Foundation, which was recognised with the Best Innovation accolade at the 2019 Great British Care Awards for the North East.
John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care, said, “This is a challenging time for the social care sector, so it’s invaluable to have the support of our partners, such as Middlesbrough Football Club and the MFC Foundation. We need to ensure that our frontline colleagues can continue to focus on the most important thing, which is providing great care and support and managing our services.
By overseeing the deliveries of these special boxes, the club and it’s charity have lifted pressure and meant that we can continue to give our full focus to the people we support.”
Oliver Pearce, Social Inclusion Manager at MFC Foundation, said, “From our decade of working with Community Integrated Care, we know first-hand how vital their services are to the people in our local community. Community Integrated Care’s colleagues are currently delivering life-changing support to the most vulnerable in society, and we are proud that we’ve been able to assist the charity in rewarding these dedicated care workers.
A huge thank you to our team of volunteers and staff members who all gave up their own time and worked tirelessly to deliver these boxes to our key workers across the North East.”
