Last week, over the course of 7 days, Community Integrated Care colleagues, the people we support and our local communities came together to collectively help our charity surpass not only one, but two of our Big Walk & Talk targets!
The event began on Monday 17th August with our teams tackling personal fitness challenges, fancy dress fun-runs or even wandering around their gardens to help us add to our total. With a goal set of 1,092 km – the distance between our most northernly service in Thurso, to our most southernly service in Dorset – our charity rose to the challenge!
In just under 72 hours, we were proud to reach our initial target. To keep the momentum going, we introduced a new goal: 1,988 km – the year our charity was founded.
By the end of this incredible week, we’d collectively hit over 3,000 km thanks to everyone who contributed!
Together, we collectively achieved:
- 3098 kilometres!
- 4,053,805 steps!
- 162,152 calories burned!
During their journey’s, our teams shared their examples of best practice around diversity and inclusion. These thoughts and comments will be used to ensure our charity can become as inclusive as possible for all.
You can still support our teams in their efforts by donating to our Big Walk & Talk fund, helping us raise money for some very special opportunities that we’re planning for the people we support!
