Deaf Awareness Week celebrated!

Deaf Awareness Week was marked by Community Integrated Care service Griffin Lodge in Stockport last week, where staff and people supported at the service showed their creative side for this important campaign.

Deaf Awareness Week, held annually by the UK Council on Deafness, aims to promote the work of member organisations, by raising awareness and education of the broad spectrum of deafness. The theme for this year’s campaign was ‘Equality In Communication For All’.

With this theme in mind, everyone at Griffin Lodge, a service for young adults with learning disabilities and hearing impairments, donned their paintbrushes to design a series of posters to lend their support to this special week.
