Community Integrated Care sponsors The Alzheimer’s Show
Community Integrated Care is proud to have took centre stage last weekend (4th & 5th July) as headline sponsors of The Alzheimer’s Show, the UK’s leading exhibition and conference on dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Show, held at Event City, Manchester, attracted over 1000 people from across the North West, including people living with dementia, family carers and dementia care professionals. The event, supported by The Alzheimer’s Society, offered expert advice and information, as well as showcasing the best dementia support products and services available in the UK.
Speakers at this event included The Rt. Hon. Hazel Blears, Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia, as well as professionals from The Alzheimer’s Society, the Dementia Action Alliance and the University Of Manchester.
The charity played a lead role at the event, with colleagues from across the North West sharing their knowledge and expertise in 18 presentations and workshop across the two days, as well as establishing contacts with some of the UK’s leading figures in the sector.
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest social care charities. It supports over 5000 people with care and support needs living across England and Scotland. The charity supports thousands of people who live with dementia – in its own specialist services and in the community.
It has been nationally and internationally recognised as being at the forefront of the dementia care sector – winning a host of prestigious awards, developing pioneering new models of dementia care and supporting research projects.
Cath Murray-Howard, Deputy Chief Executive at Community Integrated Care, delivered three presentations at the event, as well as taking part in ‘Question Time’ panel discussions on both days. She says: “Dementia is an extremely complex condition, and one of the most challenging issues that society faces today.
When dementia touches people’s lives, it can prove difficult to know where to turn. The Alzheimer’s show brings together the best of advice, support and products for people, which is why our charity gave this fantastic event our full backing.”
