Cheshire team share best practice with CQC
Community Integrated Care’s Cheshire team are proud to be working in partnership with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), delivering specialist training to local inspectors on the topic of dignity.
Regional Managers Leanne Dillon, Karen Stewart and Tracy Henry gave practical advice and challenged staff to consider their own values and practices at their Dignity and Values Event – named DAVE for short!
Following their successful training for Dignity Action Day, the team built upon this to develop their training, and in recent years have trained almost 1000 Community Integrated Care staff in short, high-impact sessions on topics such as Empowering People, Maintaining Relationships and the importance of Support Planning.
This training has since flourished, with sessions tailored for different care settings, and also delivered in Cheshire-based Riverside College to Health and Social Care students.
Leanne Dillon, Regional Manager for Community Integrated Care says: “The Dignity and Value Event is something the team feel really passionately about, and take great satisfaction in challenging the perceptions of both our colleagues and the wider sector, to continuously improve the level of support that we deliver.
As a team, we’re delighted that the CQC see the value and benefit in what we are doing, and look forward to developing this thriving partnership more in the coming months.”
