Shortlisted for two Third Sector Care Awards!

This Friday, Community Integrated Care is shortlisted for two prestigious honours at the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards.

Organised by care sector publication, Care Management Matters, and developed in conjunction with the National Care Forum, the Awards celebrate the hard work, dedication, innovation and excellence of people working in the non-for-profit sector, whose work has a real, positive effect on people’s lives.

After receiving national attention from both key politicians and the media, our highly praised Unfair to Care report has been shortlisted for the Campaigning for Change Award.

Released by our organisation in July last year, the report, for the first time, objectively evaluated the frontline Support Worker role in relation to positions with equivalent levels of responsibility in other sectors. From the independent analysis conducted, it was concluded that frontline carers undoubtedly receive an unjust deal when compared with their peers in other public-funded sectors – highlighting the need for further funding of the social care sector.

Meanwhile, our charity’s pioneering ‘What To Do’ website has also been shortlisted for the Technology Award – an accolade which aims to recognise innovative and person-centred uses of technology to enhance people’s lives.

Having launched in September 2021, ‘What To Do’ is a unique online hub, offering free accessible activities every day to people with care and support needs, both within and beyond our organisation. Since the hub’s launch, in partnership with leading sports, cultural and community groups, our charity has been proud to welcome so many incredible guests to these sessions, including Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone.

Winners will be announced tomorrow night, on Friday 4th March, in an awards ceremony at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham.
