Deputy CEO Triumphs at Specialist Awards!
Community Integrated Care is proud to have been represented at last night’s Laing Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards by two fantastic nominees and a very special winner.
Our Director of Business Development, Performance and Deputy CEO took home the Entrepreneur Award at the event, which is one of the UK’s most prestigious and recognised care sector events.
The awards, which celebrate outstanding innovators and performers in the UK care sector, were hosted by renowned BBC presenter and journalist, Bill Turnbull. Judges described Cath, who is originally from Chester and now lives with her family in Eastham, as “hugely impressive, with entrepreneurial flair, used to set strategy and transform the operation of a large charity”.
Cath’s success is a result of her incredible impact since joining Community Integrated Care in February 2012, after an extensive and successful career in both the commercial and third sectors. In her relatively short tenure, bringing on approximately £11 million of new business, as well as supporting major sector research and conferences with her knowledge and expertise. Cath’s commercial skills are matched equally by her commitment to providing excellent care.
She has been instrumental in transforming Community Integrated Care, taking a leading role in the creation of the charity’s five year strategy, which outlines a bold ambition to become ‘The UK’s Leading Health and Social Care Charity’. She has been instrumental in the launch of a transformative Personalisation Strategy, which sees the organisation commit to a development programme to deliver truly person-centred support throughout the entire charity.
Community Integrated Care was also shortlisted on the night for the Care Home Provider Award, in recognition of their vision for a high standard of care, and commitment to continual improvement.
Also shortlisted on the night was the charity’s Peer Reviewer Team – a group of people supported by Community Integrated Care who are also paid employees of the charity – whose role is to visit services and critically evaluate the quality of person-centred support delivered. In just a few months, the group have made an incredible impact on a strategic level, driving and contributing on many projects to transform the management and culture of the 5,000-strong staff team. Their work saw them nominated for the Personalisation Award at the event.
Community Integrated Care’s CEO Neil Matthewman says: “Cath has made an incredible contribution as a leader of this organisation, using her outstanding commercial knowledge and passion for quality care to drive our ambitious strategy.”
“Since joining Community Integrated Care, she has shown endless ambition and vision, and worked in partnership to create and transform many services, meaning we can offer truly life-changing support to more people.”
“Cath is an excellent ambassador for both Community Integrated Care and the wider health and social care sector, and is truly deserving of this incredible honour.”
“Our Peer Reviewers represent a time of real change for our charity, which sees the people we support at the centre of every decision and in the driving seat of their own lives and support. Their work is changing the way we do things one service at a time, and empowering the people we support to speak up and live the lives they want to lead. They are very worthy nominees, and I look forward to seeing them rewarded for their work on a national stage in the near future.”
