Person we support wins workplace recognition

Barry Greenhough, a person supported by Community Integrated Care, has achieved special recognition for his work with Liverpool-based medical device manufacturers and distributors, Algeos, as part of the organisation’s employee awards.

Every quarter, Algeos shines a light on colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their roles with their special recognition awards. Following a unanimous vote from his fellow colleagues, Warehouse Operative, Barry, was presented with the ‘Consistent Performer’ accolade, commending his hard-working nature, efficiency, and commitment to his job.

Initially nominated by multiple colleagues for the recognition, the achievement was then judged by a company-wide vote where it was agreed that Barry was deserving of this special award.

Barry first secured his role as a Warehouse Operative for Algeos in May 2007, with support from our charity’s Vocational Support Service based in St Helens – a specialist service that supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to gain paid employment.

Barry has now been at the company for almost 15 years, working in the manufacturing department packaging products, and is a well-loved and respected member of the team.

Barry’s efforts were recognised formally at Algeos’ company-wide meeting, where he was officially presented with the award in front of more than 50 colleagues.

Barry said, “I was really happy and proud to be chosen for the award. I love my job at Algeos and really enjoy going into work and being part of the team there. It means so much that my colleagues recognise my hard work!”

Neil Smith, Warehouse Operations Manager at Algeos said, “It is with great pride that I fully endorse Barry as a “Consistent Performer” within Algeos. Barry’s dedication and attention to detail when carrying out his work shows he is an asset to the business, and he is also highly thought of having been here for many years. In the time Barry has been at Algeos he has had a 100% attendance record and has never even been late for work.
