Muirs Court celebrates inspectorate results

In their recent inspection report, Care Inspectorate regulators awarded the team a ‘Very Good’ rating overall, specifically assessing the care home to be ‘Very Good’ for ‘How well the service supports people’s wellbeing’ and ‘How good is the leadership’.

The report commended the care provided at Muirs Court, saying “care was delivered in a personalised way, where people were treated with dignity, respect and genuine affection” and that “there was a focus on ensuring that people were having positive outcomes from the care and support being offered.”

The inspectors evaluated how people were supported to get the most out of life – noting the team’s dedication to keep people active and encouraging people to participate in meaningful activities both within the home and in the local community. This includes making meals, spending time with family and going on trips to the theatre.

Praise was also given to the way in which the team planned support, stating, “people’s care and support was detailed within a personal plan. These were personalised with good information about people’s needs and wishes” and “family members were welcomed and involved in shaping the support that their relative received.”

Alongside this, positive feedback was shared from relatives who said that the service gave them “peace of mind” and that their family members were “well cared for”.

Special mention was given to the management of the team, with regulators reporting that the current manager was described by the people supported and their family members as “brilliant”, “approachable” and “responsive”.

Audrey Crilly, Regional Manager, said, “I’m absolutely delighted with the Care Inspectorate’s recent inspection report, rating us as Very Good. It’s been a really challenging and unpredictable year, and this result is a testament to the whole team’s hard work, resilience and adaptability.
We’re immensely lucky to be surrounded by some amazing colleagues here in Community Integrated Care – I’m proud of each and every one of them. A big thanks to our teams from services in the surrounding area too, who have stepped up to provide support to Muirs Court when we most needed them.”

Allison Cochrane, Managing Director for Scotland, said, “This is a fantastic result for Muirs Court and I am really proud of the whole team. Over the past couple of years, they have showcased real commitment to providing outstanding care, going above and beyond to promote independence and interaction with the local community.

The team’s compassion and dedication is inspirational. The service has an excellent focus on helping people to stay active and pursue new hobbies and interests that are personal to them – and they do so with the utmost dignity and respect. I am delighted to see their efforts recognised by the Care Inspectorate.”
