Oliver to speak at Labour Party Conference
Community Integrated Care’s Sports Inclusion Coordinator, Oliver Thomason, is delighted to be joining MPs and members of the social care workforce at the Labour Party Conference this Sunday (25th September).
The event, which will take place in Liverpool from Sunday 25 to Wednesday 28 September, provides an opportunity for colleagues from the care sector and beyond to speak directly to MPs, sharing their experiences and campaigning for change.
Oliver will be presenting alongside the National Care Forum in a Q&A session, sharing his experiences and emphasizing the positive impact that social care and charities have on people’s lives.
Oliver said, “I’m proud to be speaking at the Labour Party conference on Sunday. I’ll be sharing the amazing work that our colleagues do and the impact that social care has had on my life and the lives of so many others.”
He continued, “Through the likes of our Inclusive Volunteering Programme with the Rugby League World Cup 2021, our ground-breaking Learning Disability Super League and our Taking Charge campaign, we’re having an unprecedented impact on people with learning disabilities across the UK. My message to the Labour party will be to support and invest in social care charities so that they can continue to provide opportunities that enable people to live the best lives possible.”
Community Integrated Care will also be taking part in a number of other engagements at the conference.
This includes our Director of Partnerships and Communities, John Hughes, joining a panel discussion with the Future Social Care Coalition – ‘Can Fair Pay Fix the Social Care Crisis?’. John will be sharing the findings from our ground-breaking Unfair to Care report, and calling on the government for investment and reform in the social care sector.
