Care To Cook with Community Integrated Care!

Get your aprons on and your frying pans ready! Community Integrated Care is excited to announce the launch of Care to Cook; an accessible cooking program designed specially to inspire and empower people who access social care, and their support teams, to discover a passion for cooking, without breaking the bank.

Accessible cooking with Care To CookFrom Cookalongs with celebrity chefs to free food vouchers and accessible cookery videos, this exciting programme will enable people across social care to get cooking together, have fun and learn new skills.

Budding chefs will have the opportunity to join Celebrity Chef and Presenter, Rosemary Shrager, for a virtual cookalong via our charity’s accessible activity platform, What to Do, on Friday 11th October. This will be free and open for anyone from the social care sector to attend on www.What-To-Do.co.uk.

As well as empowering people to improve their cooking skills, Care To Cook will also promote social cooking as a way to meet new friends and connect with others, through a shared passion for good food. Services that are part of Community integrated Care can also apply for ‘Care To Dine’ food vouchers, to try out new recipes from the programme.

John Hughes, Director of Partnership and Communities at Community Integrated Care, said, “Cooking empowers greater independence, healthier choices, and improved wellbeing. It also brings people together, having fun and connecting through food – whether that’s cooking together with a loved one or hosting a dinner party for friends and family.”

He continued, “Everybody deserves to enjoy the food that they love. Often, people face challenges finding recipes that are accessible, affordable and adaptable. Through this programme, we aim to show that delicious, nutritious meals can be made on any budget. I look forward to seeing this initiative empower individuals across our charity, and the wider social care sector, inspiring confidence and bringing greater joy and wellbeing through food.”
