Celebrating Learning Disability Week

This week, Community Integrated Care are proud to join Mencap in celebrating Learning Disability Week, giving us the opportunity to raise awareness of the important issues that impact the lives of people with disabilities.

This year’s theme is Living Life With A Learning Disability, and looks at how people are reconnecting with their communities, friends and families, after the isolation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing a variety of ways that the people we support can reconnect with others – whether old friends or new!

First to feature is our innovative online platform, www.What-To-Do.co.uk! Designed to help the people we support develop new skills and make everlasting friendships, What-To-Do.co.uk provides fun virtual activities each day. From colouring to cooking, or even light exercise, there’s something for everybody – enabling the people we support to meet new people and make friends!

During this important week, we’re also inviting the people we support to get involved in celebrating by sharing their stories.

Whether it’s something they love, take pride in, or want to change, we’ll be sharing their stories across our social media channels with the hashtag #LDWeek22!
