With 18 winners and 48 shortlisted nominees, it’s safe to say that 2021 was a star studded year for Community Integrated Care! We’ve proudly celebrated our colleagues, teams, partnerships and the people we support across a total of 17 prestigious ceremonies.
Every nomination represents the enormous amount of skill, dedication and world-class support delivered by our colleagues each day, marking them as the very best in the social care sector.

Double win at the National Care Awards
We were thrilled to win not one, but two incredible awards at The National Care Awards, receiving recognitions in senior leadership and outstanding support during one of the most challenging periods in history for our sector.
Organised by leading social care publication Caring Times Magazine, the evening saw our CEO Mark Adams collect the ‘Care Leadership’ accolade, shortly followed by our Advanced Support Worker from the North East, Tracy Hamilton, crowned the ‘Care Champion’. Judges noted that Tracy stood out for her ‘unrelenting selflessness, love and dedication to the care community’.

An outstanding achievement at the Great British Care Awards
Our Scottish Regional Manager, Fiona Barrie-Higgins, proudly picked up the most highly coveted award of the night at this year’s Great British Care Awards!
Awarded the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care’, this accolade recognised Fiona’s bravery and leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and her unrelenting passion and commitment to the sector throughout the past 20 years. Fiona will go through to the Great British Care Awards Finals held in March 2022, wish her luck!
With another winner and 6 nominations on the night, you can read more about this event here.
Scoring a win at the Sports Business Awards
Our world-first Inclusive Volunteering Programme with the Rugby League World Cup 2021 is breaking boundaries and changing lives at a scale. So, we were proud to see these achievements recognised at the Sports Business Awards, where our project was awarded the ‘Best Sports Community Scheme’.
From enabling a 10-year-old aspiring rapper to create a World Cup inspired song with a hitmaker producer, to people with a passion for communications hosting the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final press conference, and even engaging the creative talents of people living with dementia, this incredible project is volunteering done differently.
Throughout 2022, the project will continue to provide life-changing opportunities for people with care and support needs through personal development projects inspired by the tournament. You can find out more about this incredible project here.
Do you know a Community Integrated Care star?
We know that so many of our colleagues go above and beyond, and we’re proud to have plenty of reward and recognition schemes that recognise these achievements internally, too!
So, whether you’re a family member or a commissioner, a supplier or a member of a local volunteering group, if you’ve seen one of our colleagues do a great job – please let us know!
To celebrate one of our colleagues or teams, send a note with further information to information@c-i-c.co.uk or via our website here, and we’ll share your feedback with our regional operational teams.
