CEO Takes Part In Guardian Debate

Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, took part in an exciting online web chat with The Guardian newspaper on Friday 28th June, sharing his career experiences, having held senior positions in both the NHS and third-sector.

The Guardian LogoNeil took part in the discussion, which was called “How to make the move from the NHS into the voluntary sector”, alongside an impressive panel of third sector experts from the likes of Macmillan Cancer Support and The Health Foundation.

In the debate, Neil discussed how by working in the third sector for Community Integrated Care, he had experienced “greater freedom from bureaucracy and the opportunity to develop more influential professional relationships.”

He also explained how he has continued to draw upon his public sector experience by leading our charity in strategic partnerships, stating: “Community Integrated Care currently has a number of initiatives where we are working with CCGs and NHS foundation trusts to practically achieve integration of services.”

Neil urged talented professionals working for the NHS to “look at opportunities within the third sector very seriously”, explaining that “if you are a self-starter, filled with ambition and drive, the third-sector can provide a rewarding and personally valuable career.”
