Community Integrated Care attend UK Dementia Congress 2018
Last week saw the Community Integrated Care team attend the 13th UK Dementia Congress which was held in Brighton.
The annual three day event was an opportunity for care professionals to learn from and be inspired by others’ experience in dementia care, offering a host of plenary and parallel sessions, interactive workshops, special events and installations.
The Congress is the UK’s largest annual dementia event organised by The Journal of Dementia Care and held in association with The Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity.
Phil Benson, Service Manager from our specialist dementia care home EachStep Blackburn, attended the conference and commented on the event, telling us:
“The Congress is where the best and the brightest from the field of dementia care can attend to find out what’s innovative and what’s new in the sector. The calibre of the guest speakers and presentations have been incredible. It’s fantastic to hear about the innovative approaches to enablement and independence in the field and the new technologies which are assisting in improving dementia care.”
The event was also attended by keynote guetst, Caroline Dinenagem the Minister of State for the Department of Health & Social Care. Speaking on the main stage to hundreds of delegates, Caroline praised the exceptional work of care workers across the country.
The Congress culminated with the National Dementia Care Awards which saw Community Integrated Care nominated for three awards across the evening.
