Community Integrated Care Managers win National Care Awards
Two of Community Integrated Care’s managers collected top accolades at the National Care Awards on Friday 25th November – Best Special Needs Manager and Best Dementia Care Manager.
These awards recognise the innovative leadership of Phil Benson, Service Manager of EachStep Blackburn and Andy Hood, Project Manager and founding Service Leader of Tees Alive day care service.
The glamourous award ceremony took place at the London Metropole Hotel and was hosted by Boyzone’s Keith Duffy.

Best Special Needs Manager – Andy Hood
Andy has been commended for the instrumental role he played in setting up Tees Alive, a day care service that offers adults with learning disabilities an innovative programme of leisure, education and vocational opportunities.
The judges chose Andy because he ‘displays the perfect balance of implementing vision, delivering a strong team culture and implementing an innovative person-centred service.’
Best Dementia Care Manager – Phil Benson
Phil oversees EachStep Blackburn, our pioneering new specialist dementia care home which has received significant acclaim since its launch earlier this year including two National Dementia Care Awards – Best Dementia Care Home and Best Dementia Care Manager Award.
At the National Care Awards, Phil was recognised for his efforts in delivering an innovative model of person-centred care and putting the home at the heart of the community.
Phil was praised by judges because he ‘shows great vision in helping residents fulfil their dreams, has the ability to draw from personal experience and a desire to set new standards and drive innovation in the sector.’
