Community Integrated Care welcomes Singapore Government

Community Integrated Care welcomed senior officials from the Singapore Government on Friday 5th October, to support their mission to find out about the latest innovation in UK health and social care.

The six-person delegation, made up of senior directors from several government departments that oversee care provision in Singapore, spent a full day with Community Integrated Care’s directors , learning about our approach to providing care and support to people with a wide range of needs and visiting some of our flagship services.

We strive to find new and better approaches to delivering care, developing genuinely progressive services. We were honoured to be able to share some of the insight we have gained in doing so with officials from the Singapore government.”

Neil adds: “To receive this international attention and have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with senior figures in the Singapore government was real privilege for me and my colleagues.”

The group started their day by visiting EachStep Blackley, Community Integrated Care’s pioneering £5 million integrated dementia care service in Manchester. The delegation were keen to learn about how the service Delegates with people supported by EachStep Blackley uniquely supports people with dementia from their initial diagnosis and throughout the progress of their condition by delivering a complete range of dementia care services (home care, day care, respite care and residential and nursing care) from one state-of-the-art-building. In recognition of their gratitude for EachStep’s hospitality, the delegation presented staff with a ceremonial plaque, which will go on permanent display in the service.

They followed this by visiting the charity’s Marston Gardens service in Merseyside, a newly launched, purpose-built £2.8 million extra-care service supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health concerns to live independently in the community. The group ended their tour with a visit to the charity’s Glenwood and Birkdale services in Widnes, supporting people with complex learning disabilities.

It was a great honour to receive positive feedback from the delegation about our approach to care.”
