Double Success at Great South West Care Awards

Community Integrated Care is proud to have picked up two accolades at this year’s Great South West Care Awards, which took place at the Ashton Gate Stadium on Friday 25th October. South West Care Awards

James Sainsbury, a Service Leader at four of our Southern services recieved a top honor, winning the prestigious Frontline Leader Award. The Frontline Leader accolade recognises people who have shown a clear commitment to improving the delivery of care and support within their team and shown leadership qualities by supporting others to bring about change. James was commended by the judges for producing innovative ideas to make his teams stronger, helping to boost team morale.

At the event, Community Integrated Care’s partnership with the charitable arm of Portsmouth F.C, Pompey In the Community, was also recognised collecting the Care Innovator Award, and praised for the development of weekly accessible sports sessions for people with learning disabilities to improve their health and wellbeing.

Community Integrated Care provides support for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health concerns throughout the South and employs over 6,000 dedicated colleagues nationally. On the evening, the charity had two other shortlisted nominees, Magna Road and Douglas Cerencovich, up for the Care Home Team and Care Newcomer awards respectively.

The Great South West Care Awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional awards which celebrate excellence in social care and recognise those who work in the sector throughout England.

Martin McGuigan, Managing Director of South and Central at Community Integrated Care says, “To be shortlisted for four awards at the South West Care Awards shows the incredible amount of great support being delivered here in the region. I’m incredibly proud of all our finalists, and I’d like to pass on a huge congratulations to James on his achievement.”

He continued, “We’re absolutely thrilled that our partnership with Portsmouth FC and Pompey in the Community has been recognised – the programme has created a whole host of opportunities and unforgettable moments for the people we support.”

Community Integrated Care’s two winners will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards, taking place next year in London.
