EachStep Blackley celebrating ‘Good’ CQC rating

EachStep Blackley, our specialist dementia service in North Manchester, has been awarded with a ‘Good’ rating in all areas from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The home supports up to 55 people living with dementia.

The team at EachStep Blackley are celebrating being rated ‘Good’ in all areas, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for the people the home supports, which are Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led.  

The CQC praised the caring way that people supported in the home were treated with dignity and respect, whilst also being involved as partners in their care. Family members were extremely complimentary about the team at EachStep, comments included the “Care is exceptional”, “The staff are kind and have respect for residents, like friendship” and “Respect for residents, I think they have it – Absolutely brilliant staff!”

Inspectors also commented on how colleagues at the home encouraged the people they support to complete part of the tasks themselves. They observed that some residents took their pots back into the kitchen after their meal, encouraged by staff to help maintain independence for as long as possible.

She continued, “Our charity’s aim is to ensure that all our services achieve a ‘Good’ or higher rating. EachStep Blackley’s achievement is thanks to the hard work of our committed team – they should be extremely proud”.
