Elaine crowned Carer of the Year
Elaine Robertson, a Support Worker from our charity’s services in Aberchirder, has been crowned Carer of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Moray & Banffshire Heroes Awards.
Elaine received the award at a special celebration hosted by Highland News and Media at the Banff Springs Hotel.
Elaine’s journey into care began over 20 years ago, when she found a lifelong passion for supporting others to live with dignity, independence and purpose.
As Carer of the Year, Elaine has been recognised for her incredible dedication to social care and the impact that she’s had, supporting Kevin and Robert – twin brothers supported by Community Integrated Care, in Aberchirder. Over the past six years, she’s empowered the brothers to move into their own homes next door to each other, find employment, and even enjoy their first holiday abroad.
Speaking of her win, Elaine shared: “I am overwhelmed and absolutely blown away to have won this award. When you come from a small village in Aberdeenshire you don’t expect to win something like this. I feel so proud – but it’s never just about me. It’s about the people we support and the incredible things they achieve every day. When I support people, I see beyond their challenges – I see their potential. Everyone deserves the chance to live life to the fullest, and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.”
Sara Murphy, Managing Director at Community Integrated Care, said, “We are incredibly proud of Elaine and all that she has achieved. This award is a true reflection of her dedication, compassion, and belief in the potential of the people we support. Elaine embodies everything that is wonderful about social care – she empowers people to live with choice, independence and joy. Her win is a celebration for us all.”
