Hull FC Launch LDSL Team For 2020

The Hull FC Community Foundation have announced the creation of Hull FC’s new Learning Disability Super League team to join the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League for the 2020 season!

The Foundation will be running weekly Learning Disability Rugby League sessions on Tuesday evenings, 5.30pm-6.30pm, with the first session being Tuesday 12th November at the Bonus Youth Performance & Community Centre, off Pickering Road, Hull, HU4 7AB. 

The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League is part of a wider strategic partnership between Community Integrated Care, the Betfred Super League and the RFL, which aims to develop and enhance the community programmes provided by the sport to people with care and support needs.

As the official social care partner of the sport, Community Integrated Care will be leading the development of a range of programmes that will use Rugby League to transform the lives of people who require care and support.

“Hull FC are one of Rugby League’s most iconic clubs and the work of their Charitable Foundation is highly respected within the sport, so they will be an incredible addition to this programme.

“The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League is changing lives; giving people the chance to achieve their greatest aspirations, make friends and grow in independence.

“We know that it will be a dream come true for many local people who have learning disabilities and autism to wear that famous black and white shirt, and represent the club that they love. We can’t wait to see them in action this season.”

“Through this programme and our great Community Coaches, Brad Sugden & Matty Kirby, we will be able to give participants of all abilities the skills and confidence to play the game of Rugby League, as well as make new friends and have the chance to represent Hull FC with pride.”

The newly formed Hull FC Learning Disability Super League Team is entirely inclusive and welcomes all players, regardless of skill or experience.
