Music star wows on What To Do for World Autism Day

Community Integrated Care was delighted to welcome music artist, Jo Hill, to deliver an exclusive performance on our charity’s www.What-To-Do.co.uk platform, in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.

The singer, who has been hotly tipped by BBC Radio 1, Clash Magazine and even the legendary Elton John on his Apple Music show, delivered a unique performance of her acclaimed debut album, Girlhood, for colleagues and people we support, across the UK. The concert was described as “amazing”, “inspiring” and “the best” by participants.

Jo’s free performance comes at a time of real excitement in her career – having been named as Artist Of The Week on BBC Introducing and delivered a series of gigs at the iconic SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

Jo said, “Performing with Community Integrated Care was such a special experience. Music is all about connection, so sharing my songs with a community that celebrates inclusion and creativity was really special. I feel like through my album and gatherings and shows I’ve built such a strong community. I loved being able to extend this to people supported by this amazing charity on World Autism Day. I loved getting to meet everyone and sharing this special moment together.”

John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care, said, “We were blown away by Jo’s passion and kindness in delivering this concert at such a busy and exciting time in her career. The concert was incredible. The people we support loved discovering Jo’s music – joining in with her songs and chatting to her.”

He continued, “Community Integrated Care exists to enable people to live their Best Life Possible. Enjoying new music is a key pleasure for so many people, but can come with difficult barriers for some of our communities. By delivering this concert on our www.What-To-Do.co.uk platform, Jo helped us to overcome these challenges and has inspired many people to discover live music. We are deeply appreciative of her support.”
