Joining leading sector training conference

Community Integrated Care’s CEO, Mark Adams, will be joining the National Adult’s Commissioning and Contracting Training Conference this Friday 12th November, to share our charity’s innovative approaches to sports in social care and our colleagues’ experiences of life on the frontline.

Organised by representatives from Local Authorities, the Department for Education and Skills, and academic leaders in the field of social care policy, the event aims to bring together colleagues from across the sector to share and develop best practice in commissioning and contracting.

Joining a panel of speakers 11.20am, Mark will be discussing the power of sport in social care and sharing our charity’s journey of creating opportunities within the sporting community for people with care and support needs – including the successes of our charity’s ground-breaking partnership with the Rugby League World Cup 2021.

Mark will also be delivering a key note speech at 2pm discussing our colleagues’ experiences of life on the frontline. He’ll also be sharing Community Integrated Care’s perspective, as a care provider, on the current social care crisis and the urgent need for a social care reform.

Ahead of the event, Mark said:

“At Community Integrated Care, we are passionate about campaigning for our colleagues so that they are properly rewarded and recognised for the incredible work that they do. Our charity recently announced a landmark pay uplift for our workforce and we continue to lobby for better pay across the sector. We strongly believe that frontline carers deserve more, and this can only come from government action and increased financial investment in social care.

This conference provides a fantastic opportunity for us to come together with other colleagues in social care and share our experiences with local authorities and commissioners, to encourage more collaborative ways of working and bring about the changes that the sector so urgently requires.”
