Kevin receives royal letter from the King

Kevin MacPherson, a person supported by Community Integrated in Aberchirder, was delighted to receive a card from His Majesty King Charles III, after sending the royal family a hand drawn picture and congratulatory message in celebration of the King’s Coronation in May.

Kevin, a person supported by Community Integrated Care, holds a letter from the King's Royal Correspondent and a card signed by the King, with a picture of the King and Queen Consort.

Kevin, who is a huge Royal family fan, created the drawing at a local community group as part of their coronation celebrations.

As a special surprise, at the group’s latest meeting, the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire attended to present Kevin with a card from the King, thanking him for his gift, and a letter from the Head of Royal Correspondence, commending his talented drawings.

The letter reads, “The King has asked me to thank you for the splendid drawings which you sent on the occasion of the Coronation, care of Mr. Andrew Simpson, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire.”

“The King is most grateful to you for taking the trouble to create and share such beautifully detailed drawings. His Majesty was particularly pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Coronation celebrations.”

Kevin said, “I was so surprised and really proud to receive a letter from the King for my artwork. I couldn’t believe it when the Lord Lieutenant read it out. As a big fan of the royal family, I was over the moon. I didn’t expect to hear back when my pictures were sent off to Buckingham Palace, so it was a lovely surprise.”

Karen Wood, Head of Operations for Community Integrated Care, said, “Receiving a letter from the King and his Royal Correspondent was an amazing experience for Kevin, and as a huge supporter of the royal family, it was a dream come true for him. At Community Integrated Care, our teams are passionate about supporting people to achieve their biggest aspirations and follow their passions, so to see Kevin receive this special acknowledgement is a proud moment for the whole team.”
