Neil Matthewman writes for Public Servant magazine

Community Integrated Care’s Chief Executive, Neil Matthewman, has authored an article for Public Servant magazine, reviewing how care providers can better respond to the move to clinical commissioning.

Neil Matthewman writes for Public Servant magazine.Writing in the magazine, Neil states: “As a former managing director of a joint NHS and local authority commissioning service, I understand both the challenges and the opportunities that the new clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are facing as this new structure becomes established. Change on such a grand scale will naturally be difficult, which is why, at Community Integrated Care, we aim to be part of the solution rather than the problem.”

He goes on to detail the key issues that CCG’s will face, in terms of delivering greater outcomes, more cost effective solutions and improving integration through “partnership and the development of services that are seamless for users”.

Neil argues that provider organisations should be more forthcoming in presenting to commissioning groups how they can support them and that organisations must be more focussed on embracing the QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) agenda.
