Our finalists to celebrate at LD Awards this Friday

Tomorrow evening, colleagues from Community Integrated Care will be attending this year’s National Learning Disability and Autism Awards to represent our charity and find out the winners of the 2021 awards.

Organised by social care publication, Care Talk, the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards celebrate excellence in the support for people with learning disabilities and autism, and pay tribute to individuals or organisations who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care.

Teresa Exelby, Chief People Officer at Community Integrated Care, said:
“To have been shortlisted for six National Learning Disability & Autism Awards is a fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work, compassion and dedication of our people.

At Community Integrated Care, our colleagues are at the heart of our charity. We are passionate about ensuring that they have the support and tools required to enable the people we support to live the best lives possible. Being shortlisted for these awards is a proud moment for our charity and recognises our brilliant colleagues and the incredible support they provide on a day-to-day basis.”

John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities, said:
“We are proud to see the partnership between our charity and Rugby League recognised, alongside our team of fantastic volunteers, in the shortlist for this year’s Learning Disability & Autism Awards. The impact that the partnership has is unprecedented – it not only gives hundreds of people with learning disabilities and autism the chance to play the sport, but to also discover new passions and fulfil their potential.

We are also incredibly proud of Oliver, shortlisted for the Newcomer Award. Oliver’s work as Sports Inclusion Assistant and Official Inclusion Ambassador for the Rugby League World Cup has been crucial in helping us break down barriers, further social inclusion, and inspire the people we support to get involved with life-changing opportunities.”

Organised by social care publication, Care Talk, the winners will be announced tomorrow – Friday 29th October 2021 – at a celebratory Gala Evening which will take place at The International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
