Outstanding Care at EachStep Blackburn

Community Integrated Care’s Lancashire-based dementia care service, EachStep Blackburn, has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission for its levels of care and responsiveness.

Achieving an overall ‘Good’ rating, the specialist dementia care service had its person-centred approaches and attention to resident’s feedback singled out for particular praise – with these categories receiving the highest possible outcome.

This news is the latest piece of good news for the team at EachStep Blackburn, which since launching in May 2016, has received high praise from leading social care experts.

In November 2016, EachStep Blackburn was named Britain’s best care home at the 2016 National Dementia Awards. Just a few weeks later, Service Manager Phil Benson was named Britain’s Best Care Home Manager at the National Care Awards.

Phil Benson, Business & Operations Lead EachStep, says: “Everyone at EachStep Blackburn is delighted with the inspection report, and the two ‘Outstanding’ ratings are testament to the hard work that the team put in every day. We pride ourselves on being completely focussed on the people we support and what they want to achieve.

“We’re committed to learning as much as we possibly can about the people we support so that we’re able to provide support that takes into account their likes, dislikes, their lives before they joined us, and the things that matter most to them. For this to be recognised by our regulators is a huge honour.
