Pemberton Fold Residents Enjoy Exotic Beach Party
Saint-Tropez came to Manchester as the people we support at Pemberton Fold Care Home enjoyed an exotic beach party in the summer sun.
Residents in the Little Hulton home celebrated the summer in style with their families in an amazing garden, which was transformed with sand and seaside memorabilia – bringing the fun of the seaside to the home.
Pemberton Fold provides high quality care to people with age-related conditions, including dementia.
At the event, residents enjoyed the seaside classic meal of fish and chips wrapped in newspaper, whilst grandchildren played in the tons of golden sand that were brought to the home.
The celebrations supported the home hosting themed reminiscence sessions about the British seaside, an important cultural memory for many of the residents living in Pemberton Fold. To coincide with this, residents enjoyed a day trip to Southport in the days leading up to the celebration, where they bought sticks of rocks and ate plenty of ice-cream.
Julie Lindsay, Deputy Manager of Pemberton Fold, said: “We’re always looking at different ways to keep our residents entertained by hosting special themed celebrations, and this seaside one has proven very popular. The beach party gave the people we support and their loved ones a great day to enjoy together, with the young children playing in the garden alongside them.”
She continues: “Events like this one are all about creatively connecting the people we support with their treasured memories, and giving them a sense of happiness through reminiscence. I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible.”
