Believe Sports Awards 2019
The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League was last week recognised at the Believe Sports Awards 2019, taking place at the DW Stadium in Wigan, after being shortlisted for ‘The Deal Community Programme of the Year’.
Community Integrated Care, Super League and the RFL were shortlisted at the occasion for their input and innovation shown in the first season of the inclusion project. Since its launch, learning disability teams have taken part in a series of high-profile events and festivals, giving the players an unprecedented platform to stay active, make friends, develop skills and achieve their dreams.
The awards, which took place on Friday 11th October, celebrated the rising sports stars and dedicated volunteers who support grassroots sports and community initiatives across the borough. They were attended by over 400 guests from the sporting community.
Mark Adams, CEO at Community Integrated Care, said “The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League has had an incredible first season, and has had a huge impact on the lives of many since it’s launch. Once again, we’d like to thank our partners at Super League and RFL for their vision and support in backing this project.”
