Respite Service Celebrates Dignity Day
Runcorn-based care service, Bredon Respite, held a special community event this weekend in honour of Dignity Day.
Bredon Respite Care Service, which is based in Palacefields, provides short-term respite care for adults, aged 18-65, with learning disabilities and other support needs.
Their special celebration was in recognition of ‘Dignity Day’, a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging those in the health and social care sector to promote the choice and respect of the people they support.
The packed event was attended by people supported by Bredon, their loved ones and members of the local community, and featured stalls from local groups who promote dignity in care, as well as pamper sessions and lots of fun activities. One guest described the celebrations as “informative, and positive in promoting dignity”.
Gill Evans, Registered Manager at Bredon Respite, says: “Our Dignity Day celebration gave us the opportunity to promote the work we do in providing a tailored, dignified service to every person we support.”
She adds. “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our event and supports our service and made it such a fantastic day.”
