Respite Service Celebrates Summer

Bredon Respite Care Service in Runcorn held a Summer Open Day on Saturday (3rd August), opening its doors to the local community for a day of fun in the sun.

Recognising the fact that Bredon is a service that supports the local community, the event celebrated health, safety and wellbeing in Halton. It featured demonstrations from the local police and fire services, as well as stalls from local health groups, including the NHS Halton ‘Stop Smoking’ Service.

The packed event was attended by people supported by Bredon and their loved ones, local health professionals, as well as many interested members of the local community. Guests were treated to a BBQ and cream tea, and took part in fun activities like face painting.

Bree Harrington, whose son is supported by the service, described the day as “another example of how much effort the team at Bredon put into ensuring that everyone enjoys themselves”.

Gill Evans, Manager at Bredon Respite, says: “Our open day gave us a great opportunity to not only enjoy the summer with friends, but to also celebrate the great work that Bredon and other community groups achieve in Halton.”

She adds. “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our exciting event and has supported our service.”
