RLWC2021 Christmas Card Winner
In collaboration with the Rugby League World Cup 2021, we are delighted to announce Yousef Ahmed and Kian Muse as the winners of the official RLWC2021 Christmas card competition.
The inclusive arts project was open to those with care or support needs, with the winning design being chosen from a raft of fantastic entries.
After shortlisting five of their favourite designs, the joint panel, which included RLWC2021 Inclusion Ambassador, Oliver Thomason, and Women’s Game Ambassador, Jodie Cunningham, decided that the two winning submissions should be combined into one Christmas card due to the quality of each one.
The designs were chosen on their creativity and their ability to capture the essence of Christmas and RLWC2021, with Yousef’s entry incorporating a face mask wearing snowman. The two lucky winners, Kian, 10, and Yousef, 11, will now both receive an exclusive VIP RLWC2021 experience, as well as a RLWC2021 Christmas hat and stocking for their efforts.
Jodie Cunningham, Ambassador and Community Engagement Lead at RLWC2021, said:
“We are truly proud of this inclusive initiative. The competition was a unique opportunity for those with care and support needs to be a part of RLWC2021, and we were thrilled with the number of people that got involved.
“There were lots of brilliant entries and it was very difficult for the panel to choose a winner. In the end, we loved both Kian and Yousef’s designs so much that we felt we just had to combine the two. We send our congratulations to Yousef and Kian and we can’t wait to welcome them both to the World Cup in 2021.”
John Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community Integrated Care, said:
“As the official social care partner of the Rugby League World Cup 2021, we are proud to be part of this inclusive competition. The winning design is fantastic, it’s great to see two designs coming together – well done to Yousef and Kian! We have so many incredible initiatives planned and can’t wait to share even more unique oppourtunities in 2021.”
