Shortlisted at Flexible Working Awards
Community Integrated Care is proud to be shortlisted for the ‘New Found Flexers Award’ at Scotland’s Flexible Working Awards 2022, taking place today (24th March), recognising our charity’s move towards flexible working.
Hosted by flexible working specialists, Flexibility Works, the awards shine a light on the work that organisations and individuals have been doing to increase the access and equality of flexible working across Scotland.
Having become the first social care provider in the UK to adopt the four-day working week in 2021, the shortlisting follows our organisation’s decision to allow Head Office and Support Function colleagues to work their regular hours across four days, instead of five, and take back either Monday or Friday each week.
The nomination also recognises our charity’s adoption of hybrid working, enabling colleagues to work from home, from the office, or a flex between the two, in response to the increased demand for flexible working options, post-pandemic.
With 82% of our office-based colleagues feeling positive about the new 4 day week and plans to roll out the scheme to operational colleagues in the longer-term, the scheme has been incredibly well-received, and has even enabled office-based colleagues to offer greater support to our frontline workers, who operate over a 24-hour period.
Commenting on our charity’s move to more flexible working, Teresa Exelby, Chief People Officer said: “Our colleagues have shown us how well they have adapted to a remote and hybrid working approach, so we’re thrilled that we’re able to build on these successes as we navigate our way through the post-pandemic workplace”
“This move has been built with our colleague’s voices at the heart of it, giving them the freedom to choose and build their own ways of working.”
“Ultimately, our main goal is that this all leads to us delivering the best lives possible for the people we support.”
The winners of Scotland’s Flexible Working Awards 2022 will be announced today, Thursday 24th March, at 4pm in a virtual awards ceremony.
