Simon Learoyd Steps Down as Trustee
Community Integrated Care has today announced that after six fantastic years as Trustee, Simon Learoyd has today formally stepped down from his role at our charity.
Simon joined Community Integrated Care’s Board of Trustees in January 2018, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his long career in financial services, most recently at CYBG Plc, now Virgin Money UK.
Simon has taken a prominent role on our Board over the last six years, chairing both our Audit and Risk Committee and our Scottish Committee. His leadership and guidance have been pivotal to many of our charity’s achievements, including the creation of our Best Lives Possible strategic portfolio and most notably, our merger with Scottish social care charity, Inspire, in August 2023.
Simon shared his reflections on his time at Community Integrated Care: “My six years as Trustee at Community Integrated Care have been some of the most rewarding of my entire career, and it’s with the heaviest of hearts I say farewell to this brilliant charity.”
“To the many people I’ve met, who are responsible for ensuring that the people we support live their best lives possible: thank you for everything that you do. You’ve had an incredibly profound impact on me and to play my small part in what you all do has been an honour.”
Jim Kane, our Chief Executive Officer, said: “It’s been fantastic to have a leader of Simon’s stature on our Board for so long. He’s played such a pivotal part in our successes, helping us navigate the social care landscape in Scotland so effectively and supporting us in managing the complex risk environment we operate in.
Simon has made a brilliant impact on Community Integrated Care, and I’d like to personally thank him for his support since I took the role as CEO.”
